"MY humorous, musical pop art paintings began a few years ago because I needed to find a fresh way to make me laugh about the sane world that exists inside my brain and the insane world beyond my house -- or might I have that backwards? HA! Whether others think my simple creations are funny or not I frankly don't give a rat's ass. I do these paintings for me; if it speaks to others, so be it. But the reason I'm letting others know about my art now is that I'd like to maybe get some of them onto other people's walls. They've spent enough time with me. Now there's different levels of humor going on with my paintings so some ideas or visuals may not be as obvious as others. That said, for art to work for me, it still has to make me laugh these days...or I stop. Whether a few of them may be an inside joke that only I understand remains to be seen. In the 20th century, I always found the rock band The Who and the artist Rene Magritte to be unpredictable while displaying their own brand of humor. I hitched my simple-but-quirky painting groove to popular music and that's the road that I'll be staying on until the end. Putting my other comical explorations aside, when I first started messing around with these brushes, paints, charcoal and markers without any interference, I had no idea how much fun I could have working alone. Before I knew it, attacking these blank canvasses kept putting a smile on my face so I haven't stopped. Not all of my work is up here but more paintings will be added as I rotate others off the site. As for my oddball pricing, they were likely set while chugging a beer. Reach out to me if you're that hungry for some yummy funny sunny art in all sizes and I'll see what I can do about overcharging you less. THEY ARE GREAT HOUSE DECORATING AND HOLIDAY GIFTS (shameless, I know). Lastly, the photos that are also on display? Apparently I had some extra room on this site so I put a bunch of color and black-and-white images up. They're more interesting than funny but it's a nice contrast to all the paintings. I even refinished and repainted an acoustic guitar with a full explanation so I am clearly on some sort of creative mission. Shine on, you crazy diamonds!"
